Les Winton is Managing Director of Winton Sustainable Research Strategies Pty Limited (WSRS). He is Australia’s leading social researcher on energy efficiency, appliance labelling, climate change, sustainability, environment and water and other resource issues, having been involved in many of these and other areas since the early 1970s.
Les established the company (then named Artcraft Research) in 1981 as a broad market and social research organisation working for all three tiers of government on a wide range of projects.
However, recognising the need for effective, urgent and sustainable strategies to address climate change, Les renamed the company as Winton Sustainable Research Strategies in 2006 to highlight his commitment to social research projects, program and policy evaluations, community engagement activities and other strategic assignments on sustainability and related areas mainly for public sector clients in Australia and New Zealand.
Les is supported in the Sydney and Canberra offices by four core people of long standing, and a number of fellow consultants with whom he has worked for decades.
